Seated & Twist Yoga


One good way of starting with yoga is by finding a good seated position where you can work comfortably in one place. Normally, you will be asked to do so by your instructor if you are in a yoga class. A mat will define your place and you will do the twists and different yoga positions here. While you are seated in a comfortable position, there are many forms of seated and twist poses that you can try out. Some of them are the Heron pose, Lion pose, Hero pose, Lotus pose, Marichi’s pose, Monkey pose, Noose pose, Staff pose and revolved head-to-knee pose. Of all the poses listed, the most popular is the Lotus pose which is also called the ultimate yoga pose. This position needs open hips that can be mastered by a lot of practice. Some of the poses are dedicated to a sage of Yoga, Marichi. He is considered the father of humanity.
