Although you would also get physically fit with Yoga, it is not just a form of exercise. In fact, that is one of the misconceptions about the practice. In Yoga, you immerse yourself in a spiritual quest. You are not only after physical health, but also happiness, peace and tranquility. Ultimately, Yoga’s goal is to unite the universal consciousness with that of a person’s. So even if you do perform somewhat awkward poses in your Yoga classes, you should not think of it as just another form of exercise.
