Yoga Postures

Yoga is considered to be one of the six branches of classical philosophy in India. It is said to date back more than 500 years ago. The said term comes from a Sanskrit word that means to unite or to integrate. Yoga is therefore considered as the union of universal consciousness and that of a person’s own. There are six branches of Yoga. These are: the Yoga of Postures, or Hatha; the Yoga of Devotion, or Bhakti; the Yoga of Self-Control, or Raja; the Yoga of the Mind, or Jnana; the Yoga of Service, or Karma; and, the Yoga of Rituals, or Tantra. Yoga is not just an exercise or a religion. For those who practice it, they view it as a spiritual quest. Along this path though, one does not only acquire a healthy body, but also a healthy mind and soul. All across the globe, there are many studios, centers or gyms that offer Yoga classes for those who are interested.
